Jordan
Jordan here.
Iâve spent years caring for cattle, and I donât understand how so-called âcowboysâ can watch their animals crammed into feedlots, belly-deep in their own waste, for their entire lives. Thatâs not ranching. Thatâs neglect.
Iâve always loved animals. When my wife and I started ranching, we were determined to break the mold. We treated our cows with respect, hell, we even named some of them. And we werenât just raising beefâwe were raising a legacy.
The Ranch
Two years ago, our land was a depleted wheat fieldâdry, cracked, nothing would grow. Today, itâs lush, green pasture filled with native grasses and thriving ecosystems.
This is the legacy our cattle leave behind. They donât just liveâthey heal. They build soil, sequester carbon, and turn dead ground into living ecosystems. That pasture isnât just our workâitâs theirs.
The Cows
At Coldwater Ranch, our cattle stay with their mothers and herd from birth to harvest, except for a short, carefully managed weaning period. This low-stress, family-based approach mattersâstress affects their health, growth, and the quality of the meat.
We keep herds together, provide consistent positive interaction, and continually apply the latest handling research. With proper nutrition, mothers can nurse longer, producing stronger, healthier calves while ensuring each newborn gets full access to colostrum.
The result? Cattle that graze naturally, free from hormones, antibiotics, vaccines, or chemicalsâproducing beef thatâs flavorful, tender, and nutrient-rich. We do whatâs best for the animals, because itâs whatâs best for the land, the meat, and you.
Sam
Sam here.
I need to be honest: I wasnât always a âbeef guy.â Hell, I used to hate steak.
Then I met Jordan.
While other operations had feedlots and gas-guzzling tractors, Jordan's ranch had open pastures his cattle had restored themselves. Solar panels powered some of the ranch work. Horses herded the cows. He was like a damn Space Cowboy.
Thatâs when I stopped seeing this as a passion project and started seeing it as a responsibility: to tell people whatâs possible when animals, land, and humans are treated right.
Our Mission
As we grow, weâre committed to buying more depleted farmland and letting our cattle do what they do bestâheal ecosystems. Every box you receive helps reclaim land, one pasture at a time.
Weâre also committed to raising the healthiest beef. To us, that means free from hormones, antibiotics, and harmful pasture chemicals, and a stress-free life whenever possible.
